    Families can enjoy NatureFest’s popular wildlife experiences featuring snakes, lizards, owls, bees, and more. Nature‑themed crafts and games, along with displays of animal skeletons, fur pelts, insects, and trees, will offer many opportunities for interactive learning. Conservation partners—including Davidson College scientists, World of Wonder, Woodlawn’s STEAMfest, and native‑plant specialists—will share knowledge about wildlife, habitats, and the natural world. Interactive exhibits and hands‑on demonstrations throughout the festival reflect the 2026 EarthDay.org theme Our Power, Our Planet, showing how individual choices can contribute to community‑wide environmental impact. The Town’s Sustainability Manager, members of the Sustainability Board, and the Town Arborist will be available to discuss local climate initiatives and tree care, with demonstrations of electric landscape equipment. Guests can explore the Town’s electric police truck and patrol bikes. A wide range of nonprofits, conservation groups, and environmentally focused businesses will participate, including Bartlett Tree Experts, Trane Technologies, Mecklenburg County Air Quality, Mecklenburg County Solid Waste, Mecklenburg County Beekeepers Association, Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful, Wild Ones, Lake Norman Wildlife, NC Native Plant Society, Davidson Green School, Renu Energy Solutions, DCPC Green Group, Dwell Home Supply, EcoGreen Home Services, Stephen Hughes Live Animals, and Kenzie’s Crayons.   • April is for Arts

    Art on the Green is Davidson’s largest annual arts festival bringing thousands of residents and visitors to Davidson’s Main Street and town green on Saturday, April 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 26 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This juried art show spotlights many of the region’s finest artists in a weekend-long celebration. Mark it on your calendar! Over 30 artists from the Lake Norman region, North Carolina, Virginia, Massachusetts, and Maine will be joining us to showcase and sell their creations in all types of media: sculpture, watercolor, photography, wood, glass, ceramics, etc. Patrons can stroll around the green to enjoy amazing art from a wide variety of talented regional artists, listen to live music, and enjoy local cuisine.
